Wall St., an online publication of financial news and opinion, dubbed the Philippines as “The Social Networking Capital of the World.”.And we as Filipinos needs to be aware on how to use the internet and social media site in a proper way.

I have seen that GMA 7 have started showing their social media awareness campaign titled ” Think Before You Click ” as shown in below video from you tube.

It is a campaign against the cyber bullying and harassment.

“Think Before You Click” aims to promote the responsible use of social media and encourage Filipinos to be more mindful of what they post, to think before they hit the enter key.

We at Tech At Hand Dot Net supports the campaign and agree that we need to think first before we click anything in the net, we need to think on every information that we share in different social media site like Twitter, Facebook, Friendster, Google+, Plurk and many more. Every information will become public after it goes to the net.

We as New Media Publishers, should also apply the campaign in blogging and make it as “ Think Before You Post “, we need to be a responsible blogger. We also need to make sure that every information we share in our blogs comes from a verified source.

On the other hand did you know that Sonnie Santos, from Watch Web Trap | Web Safety PH, is actively promoting the advocacy of being a responsible net user since last year. You could check their post about “ Think Before You Click “,It says their achievements on promoting this advocacy.

It is good to see that Main Stream Media is now seeing the importance of being a responsible Netizen, a person who uses the internet. So will we see ABS-CBN and ABC 5 make the same ?
