Back in July, rumors were rife that the first Windows Phone 8 devices would ship in November of this year. Sources say Apollo, the codename used by the Windows phone team for the project, shipped to manufacturers on, September 14. Some pictures have been circulating of the team signing an RTM (release-to-manufacturing) wall. Asked about whether the news are true that the operating system of Microsoft’s first-ever phone is indeed “done,†a representative of the company said they “had nothing to share at this time.

While it remains that Microsoft had already gone public with a lot of the features of the Windows Phone 8, the company has remained mum about the phone’s platform. What is almost certain is that Microsoft will launch the Phone 8 either in San Francisco or Los Angeles on October 29.
The new operating system that Windows developed for its much-awaited Phone 8 features multi-core support, a removable Micro SD card and a secure boot. It will have two screen resolutions, according to rumors, 1,280×768 and 1,280×720 in addition to the 400 x 800 already in place. Employees of Microsoft will be provided with free Windows Phone 8 devices and Surface tablets, sources added. This was allegedly announced at a company meeting on September 13. Despite all the rumors, Microsoft officials continue to decline requests to comment on the rumors.
