Samsung’s Galaxy Note II Debuting in US Soon

It isn’t hard to imagine what the email of Samsung is all about as it read “The Next Big Thing is Here” with a picture of the stylus featured with the tagline. Without question, the company will soon launch its new device in the US . The recipients of the email were encouraged to save the date of October 24th at 7pm in New York. It also said a formal invitation will follow.

Samsung mobile spokesperson Makenzie Blythe confirmed that Samsung is holding a press conference in New York on October 24th at 7pm. Speculations about the specifications of the new device are said to include a redesigned S pen, new apps for their new S pen, and a quad-core 1.6 GHz Exynos processor that works best with LTE networks.

The Galaxy Note II is set to be the first Samsung smartphone that will launch with Android 4.1, commonly known as the Jelly Bean and is enterprise-ready. It has a 5.5-inch HD Super Amoled touchscreen and will be 0.2 inches larger than that of the Note I. It also weighs less than its predecessor.

The redesigned S pen is touted to be able to sense 1,024 levels of pressure and is equipped with an “Air View” which will allow users to preview the contents of an app just by holding the pen in the air above the app. It can take notes on pop-ups and pop-up videos. Thus, it allows users the ability to multi-task conveniently.

The new Samsung Galaxy Note II launched in South Korea North Korea  on Tuesday and is set to roll out in 128 markets through 260 carriers. It will be available in the US from Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular, according to Samsung sources.
