Intel Philippines first established the Intel Easy Steps program which teaches basic computer use which includes word processing, spread sheet and presentation development and internet navigation. The technology giant first developed the program to give adult learners basic computer lessons that will allow them to improve their social and economic capabilities. The materials used in the program are proven techniques that help in adult learning and teach practical and relevant skills.

TESDA’s role in the partnership would be to oversee the conduct of the vocational and technical programs in TESDA owned centers as well as in accredited academic institutions in the country. The agency will be using the Intel Easy Steps (IES) program to enhance their basic competencies in digital literacy as this is a basic requirement in most vocational and technical programs. The move aims to provide TESDA graduates digital literacy that is a definite advantage as this skill set has become a necessity in the workplace. Some 69 trainers have already been trained on the Intel Easy Steps program to date.
