Michael Phelps' and Jason Lezak in a 4x100m freestyle relay

Jason Lezak (middle) helps the United States comeback
in the final leg of the Men’s 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay to
win the gold, The razor-thin victory broke the world record with a time of
3 minutes, 8.24 seconds, just 8/100th of a second over France

Michael Phelps’ dream of a record eight gold medals was dramatically kept alive by teammate Jason Lezak in a 4x100m freestyle ( swimming relay ) relay thriller Monday, while the first drugs scandal of the Beijing Olympics emerged.

The win gave Phelps two golds from two events but the kudos has to go to US relay anchor Lezak who dived into the water more than a body length behind France’s Alain Bernard and made up the deficit with his final strokes.

I am still trying to find some olympic swimming video and I will update this post after I find it.

It is a great win for Michael Phelps’ and Jason Lezak
