Early this week, there were speculations around the web blaming Philippines as the source of porn attack on Facebook users around the world. This news caused alarm among Filipinos users as such malicious statement led to the announcement from Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg its decision to ban the entire Philippines from Facebook if spam attack wouldn’t cease.

Fortunately, this statement was discredited by anti-hoax sites that there’s no such credible claims to support in whatsoever.  And that Facebook would not resort to foolish and ridiculous move to ban the entire Nation with alleged claim linking Facebook or its CEO, Mark Zuckerberg to make the statement.

Meanwhile, reports say that Facebook already identified the unnamed sources and a legal team will take action to responsible sources.

To avoid this virus in the future, Facebook suggested tips to help users prevent themselves from the attack.

  • Don’t ever copy and paste code into your browser’s address bar unless you’re confident the source is legit.
  • Make sure your browser is up to date.
  • Report anything weird that you see on Facebook using the “report” links throughout the social network.

Or if something suspicious pops up on you wall, just ignore it.
