Opera Browser Approved for iPhone

It is surprising that the Opera Browser is now approved for iPhone and they promise to be 6 time faster than mobile safari. You can see the difference from the video below which was tested using 2g network and not with wi-fi.  I love when the show the switching to the new tab where it really left safari when it comes to performance.

I have used opera mini on my previous phone and it is really fast. And the way it looks in iPhone is much faster.

The announcement comes after speculation over whether Apple would sign off on the app. The company has taken a hard line on denying outside applications that compete with Apple-created software already on the iPhone.

“We are delighted to offer iPhone and iPod Touch users a great browsing experience with the Opera Mini app,” said Lars Boilesen, CEO of Opera Software. “This app is another step toward Opera’s goal of bringing the Web to more people in more places.”

So is it time for me to buy my own iPhone 3gs 🙂
