Samsung Galaxy S Advance to Hit Stores, first in the Philippines

Estimated read time 2 min read

This is unusual news when a high-end smartphone, named Samsung Galaxy S Advance, was seen first in the Philippines tech site before the launch at the MWC later this month.

According to the news, this phone is expected to hit the tech stores within this month with a selling price at P22,990.

Let us see if the price can justify on the familiar specs. Galaxy S Advance features a scratch free curved gorilla glass on the 4 inches touchscreen display at 480 x 800 pixels. It’s a Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen so expect a smooth balance on the screen lights.

It’s not yet updated to ICS but will run the latest version of Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread with 1 GHz Dual Core Cortex-A9 Nova Thor U8500 Chipset, a 768 MB RAM, 8GB and 16GB on board(expandable microSD up to 32GB), and Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery with 8 hours of Talk time, 700 hours of Standby time.

One may look at the video capability as the last thing in mind, well, it’s a High Definition 720p at 30 frames per second, a 5 megpixels camera for handy shooting at 2592 x 1944 pixels, autofocus, LED flash and 1.3 MegaPixels front facing for video chat.

What you think about the Galaxy S Advance specs versus the price?
