The gadget for the selfie-addicted person is here.

Samsung announced the newest member of the Galaxy family – the Samsung Galaxy Zoom K – last April 29 in Singapore. This latest smartphone from Samsung focuses on great quality images with its retracting lens technology that enables a times 10 optical zoom, a 20.7 megapixel backside illumination (BSI) CMOS sensor that captures clearer and more detailed images, and Xenon Flash that gives natural-looking lighting to the photos. Zoom K also has an auto-focus and auto-exposure (AF/AE) separation technology that balances light and clarity, a Pro Suggest mode that enables the user to select a filter from a range of choices, an object tracking option that shots moving subjects with the same quality and a Selfie Alarm that makes taking timed selfies much more convenient. With all of these incredible specs, Galaxy Zoom K is able to capture full high-definition (HD) pictures anytime, anywhere.

Design

The design of the phone also makes selfie-taking a whole lot easier. The shutter button is placed on the lower-right side of the body which makes it more convenient for the user’s grip. Another good thing about this shutter button (aside from its appropriate position) is that it’s not too sensitive that it will open up the lens with a slight touch. It also has Samsung Galaxy S5’s textured plastic back that helps to a more confident grip.

Ground Breaking Camera Technology

With all these already amazing features, it can only go so much better. Aside from the groundbreaking camera technology, this gadget is empowered by the latest Android operating system, version 4.4.2, the Kitkat. It has an 8GB internal memory that can be accompanied by up to 64GB microSD. Its system on a chip (SoC) is Exynos 5260 which is a quad-core 1.3GHz Cortex ARM-based system. The display is 720×1280 pixels in a multi-touch enabled 4.8-inch Super AMOLED screen. Of course, this smartphone is WiFi capable with lots of apps downloadable from the Google Play Store. All of these technologies are encased in a sleek 5.41×2.79×0.65-inch body that weighs only 7 ounces. Samsung Galaxy Zoom K comes in three colors – electric blue, charcoal black and shimmery white.

Is It Worth It?

Samsung is yet to announce Galaxy Zoom K’s worldwide price but it costs around 499 euros in all of Europe except Germany (price is said to be 519 euros here). Samsung Galaxy Zoom K is set to be released later this May but selfie enthusiasts are surely waiting for it to already become available to the market.
