best gaming monitors

If you’re the hardcore gaming type, chances are you know how monitors affect a game’s (and your) performance. The monitor tilt-ability, IPS color and viewing angle, and it’s price are all very important factors to consider. If you’re thinking of throwing out your old 18.5″ HP 2011x monitor, you may appreciate these 5 best gaming monitors available on the market.

1. AOC i2757fh Monitor

The AOC i2757fh is a pretty mouthful monitor, but don’t mind the geeky sounding name – this one is a 27-inch beast. Simply put, the AOC has solid (and we mean really solid) IPS color, viewing angle performance and sleek bezel-less design. It also has dual HDMI ports so you can keep connected to at least two HD sources without the hassle of exchanging cables. The only downside of the i2757fh is it’s tilt-only stand, but at $300, this one’s practically a steal. Definitely one of the best gaming monitors in town.

2. BenQ XL2720T

The one thing that let’s the BenQ XL2720T stand out from the plethora of gaming monitors is that it has awesome color accuracy. It also boasts extremely efficient motion handling plus a gamut of gaming-friendly features. The eleven available picture modes which includes Movie, Photo, Standard, Eco, sRGB, RTS (Real-Time Strategy), and two FPS (First Person Shooter) are definitely a welcome treat for long time gamers. The only thing that’s a bit of a let down is it’s hefty price tag of $499, but hey, 11 gaming features don’t come cheap. It’s one of the best gaming monitors for you if you’re a gaming enthusiast with a lot of cash to spend.

3. Acer B276HUL

The Acer B276HUL is a Quad HD or WQHD capable of 2,560 by 1,440 pixel resolution. These are typically used by graphic designers that need to tinker with superbly minute details or for gamers with a wad of cash in their pockets. The XL2720T has a high-resolutions panel, accurate colors, and wide viewing angles. You will also appreciate it’s ergonomic stand, although we feel that it won’t be used as much as it is advertised. The teeny-tiny speakers are a bit of annoyance though, but we’re pretty sure you won’t be using it you headset freak, you.

4. Asus PQ321

The Asus is as mind-boggling as it is bank-breaking. Dubbed the first 4K consumer monitor by its manufacturers, Asus, the 31.5″ Godzilla brings 3,840 by 2,160 pixel resolution to your digital life. This is basically aimed at high-end graphic designers and video editors, but if you’re a gaming enthusiast with $4,000 stashed somewhere, why not? The PQ321 quadruples the quality of 1080p vidoes so it’s a no-brainer that it delivers superb image and video detail. The only downside is that it truly is bank-breaking and makes the Asus PQ321 a star out of reach. It’s one of the best gaming monitors built to date, but given it’s price, we’d like to stick to the i2757fh a little while longer.
