It seems that our report the other day about Samsung Google Nexus is true, Its official, Samsung Galaxy nexus is scheduled to launch on January 28 in the Philippines under Smart Communications. As initial offering, Smart will offer the Galaxy Nexus for free under Unlimited Plan 2000 before the end of January 2012. Under this package plan, subscribers can get 200 text messages and 150 minutes call monthly including unlimited data from Smart.
For Samsung fans, you may start to pre-order online between January 21st and January 27 the day before the official launch to secure the unit.
Report says this unit is already on the display for demo purposes at SMART-PLDT Jump Experience Center in SM Megamall. Although price is not yet mentioned but definitely it will be announced on the scheduled launch or earlier for the benefit of prepaid buyers.
Galaxy Nexus runs the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and is going to be an LTE enabled device so expect a superfast user experience when browsing webpages, app downloads or just when scrolling on the apps. On one hand, this phone gets some complains from users on the shorter battery life with the LTE connectivity service.
In related news, Samsung announces that their future releases of smartphones will enjoy a 24 hour battery life.
